It will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, and young scientists to drive pioneering studies, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and strengthen India’s capacity to prevent and manage infectious diseases of global concern.

It will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, and young scientists to drive pioneering studies, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and strengthen India’s capacity to prevent and manage infectious diseases of global concern.

  • Map national and sub-national initiatives and actors involved in infectious disease control, disease surveillance, and outbreak preparedness in India.
  • Review key policy and program documents related to outbreak preparedness in India (e.g., JEE reports, NAPHS, IDSP reports, One Health roadmap, The Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG), DBT/ICMR initiatives, national plans, and other disease-specific initiatives (if any).
  • Identify major research and funding streams in India for infectious diseases and outbreak preparedness (national and international).
  • Undertake rapid stakeholder consultations (6–8 key informant interviews) to gather perspectives on gaps and opportunities for strengthening India’s pandemic preparedness.
  • Synthesize findings into a concise analytical report highlighting the institutional landscape including 1) actors, initiatives, and funding streams, 2) key thematic areas and/or diseases for strengthening India’s pandemic preparedness, 3) potential priorities and partnerships for the Centre.
  • Compendium of key documents/reports/plans related to pandemic preparedness and infectious disease control in India.

Essential:

 Master’s in Sciences/Public Health/ Epidemiology/Health Policy or related disciplines from a recognized institution.

Experience: 5-7 years

Essential:  

    • Experience in health systems, infectious disease surveillance or research coordination in India.
    • Strong desk-research, policy analysis and report-writing skills.
    • Experience conducting key informant interviews and stakeholder mapping.
    • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and ability to prepare simple visual maps (PowerPoint).
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
