Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), Delhi, has established a Stem Cell Laboratory as the foundation for a Center for Regeneration and Translational Medicine (CRTM). The initiative seeks to integrate clinical practice with basic science, bridging “bench-to-bedside” vision research. The project includes setting up four core research modules—Cell Culture, Imaging & Microscopy, Molecular Biology & Genetics, and Proteomics—alongside capacity building, national/international collaborations, and clinical trial facilitation. Focus areas include corneal and retinal regeneration, glaucoma, visual neuroscience, ocular infectious disease, and microbiome research. The program period spans three years, and aims to generate strong preliminary data to attract intramural, national (DBT/DST/ICMR/CSIR), and international funding support. There was also infrastructure upgradation undertaken at Shroff Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi. The evaluation will assess the establishment, functionality, and impact of the Stem Cell Laboratory and CRTM, with particular emphasis on infrastructure and the key components of stem cell research as well as capacity building, research outputs, clinical translation, collaborations, and sustainability. It will also evaluate the infrastructure upgradation undertaken at Shroff Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi. Purpose of the evaluation is to provide actionable insights for institutional strengthening, donor accountability, and strategic decision-making.
- Conduct a comprehensive literature survey relevant to the study.
- Assist in the development and finalization of data collection tools.
- Support qualitative data collection activities, including field coordination where required.
- Compile, clean, and organize collected data systematically.
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation of findings.
- Contribute to the preparation, drafting, and finalization of the study report.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor & Management.
