On the 22nd of July 2023, a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad, and Villoo Poonawalla Foundation (VPF) at Hyderabad.

This historical MoU embodies a visionary partnership as VPF, has generously pledged a monumental donation of INR 25 Crores. This magnanimous contribution is set to bolster and catalyse the establishment of the prestigious “Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla Centre for Infectious Diseases” within the precincts of IIPH Hyderabad campus.A Beacon of Innovation and Research

With formal education in Medicine from Madras Medical College, in Dentistry from King Georges’ Medical College (Lucknow) and in Public Health Administration from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Anil Kaul is a physician-scientist public health professional working in the field of infectious diseases and women’s health, for more than 35 years. Most recently, he served as a Clinical Professor & Program Director for Global Health at the Oklahoma State University, where he also directed the High-Complexity Infectious Diseases laboratory which he established in 2009. He also served as the Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), as Section Editor for the OSM Proceedings, and as a Member of the One Health Taskforce. Read more
